Tools and ResourcesVolunteer teams are supplied with needed resources. Each team receives a canvas tote bag, clipboard, forms, a supply of phone cards, and binoculars with built-in compass. Teams also typically have GPS units and cell phones. Once a sighting is reported, a response team with long lenses is deployed to obtain documentation and identification photos, and help track the whales as they move along the coast. Often, the shore-based information is supplemented by aerial observations and photography (refer to the AirCam page). |
